So....
Tuesday June 25th, in the evening.. We ran out of Pull-ups. Well, not gonna lie... we are pretty broke now a days. It was 2 days till Greg got paid, and we didnt have a whole lot of money left... plus it was late evening and Greg didnt really feel like going out for more. I knew we were gonna go with the "3 day potty training method" soon, but initially was planning on doing it on a 3 day weekend where Greg could help out with the other kids... but we took the out of them cue, and rolled with it... I was preparing Chloe lightly anyway that diapers were going away soon and she needed to be a big girl in undies, so after her bath that night, I told her, there are no more diapers, and now she had to wear big girl undies. All she did was say. "di-po all gone?" and I said yes, and she seemed ok with that!
Night 1: she peed almost right away at night in her bed. I changed her and I went to bed. She also woke up wet that day.
Day 1: NIGHTMARE! Wetting constantly, never making it to the potty to catch an accident, plus I was so distracted, most accidents happened when Christopher needed me. She also once cried for her di-po when she initally went for them after showering with me that morning... this time when I told her they were gone she cried a little. She still ended up going with the undies, but it took some convincing. Still, very hard day. Kept saying NO Pee does not go in your undies, it goes in the potty. and EWW YUCK wet undies.... etc.... kept telling her "let me know when you have to pee or poop. I cant remember about BM accidents this far back, but I am sure she had quite a few....
Night #2: Once accident that I knew of overnight. I checked her before I went to bed and she was dry, but she woke up wet.
Day 2: another nightmare, but slightly (very slightly) less accidents..... Still had not caught her mid pee fast enough for her to finish on the potty. Still reminding her constantly to "tell me when you have to pee and poop"
Night 3: woke up dry!!! (and has been since so far at night!!!)
Day 3: Still started out rather stressful. Less accidents though, she was holding it longer... she would even say "pee" or "poop" to me, but would be a false alarm.... dinner time.... she was being reluctant to eat, and she said "poop" while sitting there, so I thought, she probably just wants to get down, but lets let her go.... we go, and she really peed in the potty!!!!! Guess I was too excited though..... cuz
day 4 woke up dry, tried to get her to pee on the potty. nothing. tickled it out of her eventually... thought... maybe she will start going on her own today.... no. several accidents today... I dont have a tracker around to count how many, but zero successes on the potty.... except the one time I tickled it out of her...
Day 5 was just as bad. I was starting to think it just wasnt gonna work out..... (cant even remember if she successfully peed at all, if she did... I gave her m&ms though.
Day 6, a little better, but still having accidents. m&ms for every successful trip....
Day 7: no accidents at all and 7 (i think trips to the potty, including poopy!
Day 8, I believe there may have been 2 accidents, but I was distracted both times (both wet not poop)
day 9-11. Seemed she was doing GREAT! both on 4th of July (day 9) and July 6th (day 11) we went to peoples homes to celebrate the holiday, and she told me she had to go, and went (and pretty sure #2 was successful as well, although she wasnt going EVERY day like she used to)
day 12-14: Fine with Pee. Poop, on the other hand, she isnt telling me till either halfway thru the poop, right as its comng out, or after a little already did come out... or she will ask, do NOTHING, want to get up, and poop a little in the undies a few minutes later.....
So....
Its literally only been 14 days since the start of this method. So I am sure I am just being impatient, but it feels now like she got the hang of all of this, and all of a sudden she is pooping in her undies a little....
I dont know if there is anything to make it click faster, or re-click as it felt like she was getting it before, but not now.... anyway... overall, this method is GREAT and I would recommend it with ANYONE that has enough time, and other caregivers if neccessary can stay onboard with it too (I am a SAHM so obviously I had to be on board and no daycare needed to be involved, if you work, your daycare would have to be willing to deal with it, as accidents will still happen after 3 days.....)
